In 2012, four oceanfront vacation homes located at 2 9th Street underwent a complete renovation, creating one of the most desirable beachfront stays in St. Augustine Beach.

The property sits in the heart of the area’s most sought-after beach section, known by locals as the “Miracle Mile.” Guests enjoy direct beach access without long dune walkways, no vehicles driving along the sand, and convenient access to many excellent restaurants within walking distance.

Among the four cottages, Cottage 1 is the largest and offers incredible ocean views from its spacious 50-foot deck. Designed specifically for large families and groups, the home features two kitchens, two great rooms, two covered porches, and comfortable accommodations for up to 19 guests.

A Spacious Home Designed for Large Groups

Seaside Cottage 1 was created with group gatherings in mind. The home includes two great rooms, two kitchens, and multiple dining areas, making it easy for everyone to spend time together while still having plenty of space.

The upstairs great room is the main gathering area, featuring an open design, comfortable seating, and a spectacular 50-foot oceanfront porch. Large windows and an open layout allow ocean views from many areas of the home.

Entertainment features include a 65-inch wall-mounted television, cable service, on-demand programming, and a streaming device that allows guests to enjoy their favorite online content.

The home provides several dining options, including indoor and outdoor dining tables and seating at the large kitchen island.

The main kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, including a French-door refrigerator, microwave, quiet dishwasher, and double convection oven. Guests will also find everything needed for preparing family meals, including quality dishes, cookware, serving pieces, wine glasses, coffee equipment, a toaster, blender, and more.

The first floor includes another comfortable great room, kitchen, and dining area. Although smaller than the upstairs space, it provides a cozy gathering area with another 65-inch television.

Two Oceanfront Porches with Incredible Views

The outdoor spaces are among the highlights of Seaside Cottage 1.

The upstairs features a large 40-foot covered porch with rocking chairs, outdoor seating, and a dining area overlooking the ocean. There is also an open deck area perfect for sunbathing and enjoying the coastal weather.

The ocean view from the upper porch is completely unobstructed and provides a spectacular place to watch the sunrise, relax with a drink, or spend time with family.

A second downstairs porch offers additional seating and dining space. Although it does not have the same ocean view, it provides another comfortable area for playing games, enjoying conversations, or simply relaxing outdoors.

Six Bedrooms and Five Bathrooms

The cottage includes six bedrooms and five bathrooms, offering plenty of room for large groups.

The first floor contains three bedrooms, including one king bedroom and two queen bedrooms, along with three bathrooms. The first-floor great room includes a queen sleeper sofa, while an alcove provides two additional single beds. This level comfortably sleeps approximately 10 guests.

The second floor includes two king bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a special bunk area designed for children, complete with their own televisions. The upstairs great room also includes a queen sleeper sofa, and one bedroom features a fold-down sofa.

In total, the home sleeps up to 19 guests. Every bedroom includes its own television, providing 10 televisions throughout the property.

For even larger groups, additional Seaside Cottages on the same property can be rented, or guests can choose another nearby oceanfront home with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms.

The Best Beach in St. Augustine

One of the greatest advantages of Seaside Cottage 1 is its location on what many locals consider the finest section of St. Augustine Beach.

The beach area north of A Street is often called the “Miracle Mile,” and there are only a limited number of oceanfront homes located in this special section.

The first major difference is the sand. Unlike some nearby beaches with rough shell-filled sand, this area features soft white sand that feels almost powder-like and is perfect for building sandcastles.

Another benefit is the immediate access to the ocean. Guests are only steps away from the water, without having to cross long boardwalks or wide dunes carrying chairs, coolers, and beach equipment.

The area is also completely free from beach traffic. Unlike sections farther south where vehicles drive along the shoreline, this beach provides a safer and more relaxing environment for families, children, and outdoor activities.

The beach is wide, flat, and known for excellent waves. Some nearby beaches are narrower, steeper, or have rocky areas that make water activities more difficult. Here, the waves are considered ideal—not too large and not too small—making the area popular for surfing and boogie boarding.
